About the Team

Based at the School of Electronic Science and Engineering and the Key Laboratory of Terahertz Technology (Ministry of Education) at UESTC, our team conducts full-chain terahertz research from fundamentals to devices and systems. Founded in 2006, the team is part of Prof. Shenggang Liu's first-batch national "Huang Danian-style Teaching Team" and has been led by Prof. Min Hu (also Party branch secretary) since 2023. We pioneered a new mechanism of terahertz radiation from free electrons coupled with surface plasmon polaritons, and built the first vacuum-electronics-based THz near-field imaging system with 20 nm resolution — breaking the international monopoly and reaching commercialization through Chengdu Miji Technology Co., Ltd.

Hu Min

Professor & PhD Supervisor

Professor at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), engaged in cutting-edge research on terahertz science and technology since 2006. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States. Currently, he serves as Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Terahertz Technology, Ministry of Education, and Deputy Director of the Sichuan Provincial Key Laboratory. Since 2023, he has been the head and Party branch secretary of the first batch of "Huang Danian-style Teaching Teams" in China. He has published over 100 SCI papers in journals such as Nature Photonics, Physical Review Letters, Nano Letters, and Carbon, and holds more than 50 authorized invention patents. His research has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation's Basic Science Center Program and the Ministry of Science and Technology's Key Research and Development Program. He has received the first prize of the Sichuan Provincial Natural Science Award, the third prize of the Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, and has been selected for UESTC's "100 Talents Program" and Sichuan Province's "Tianfu Qingcheng Elite Program".
