The Terahertz Technology Launch Journey and the release of the “Classic Theories of Electronics and Frontier Technology Book Series” took place at the 6th Tianfu Book Fair.

On October 11, the “Voyage of Terahertz Science and Technology” event and the launch of the “Classic Theories in Electronics and Frontier Science and Technology Series,” hosted by the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) Press, were held at the main venue of the 6th Tianfu Book Fair.

This book series has been selected for the “14th Five-Year Plan” National Key Publication Planning Project, and is funded by the 2022 National Publishing Fund and the Sichuan Province Key Publication Special Fund. It is also a flagship academic work meticulously developed by the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) Press. The series is led by Academician Shenggang Liu with dedicated contributions from Professor Min Hu and his team, bringing together classical theories of electronics and cutting-edge achievements in terahertz technology. The three volumes—*Microwave Electronics*, *Relativistic Electronics*, and *Terahertz Electronics*—not only demonstrate Academician Shenggang Liu and his team’s profound expertise and outstanding contributions in the field of electronics, but also provide valuable guidance and reference for researchers and students in related areas both in China and abroad.

In his speech, Tian Jiang, President and Editor-in-Chief of the publishing house, remarked that the publication of this book series is not only a tribute to and continuation of classic works in electronics, but also a vivid demonstration of bold exploration and fearless discovery at the frontiers of science and technology. It closely aligns with the grand blueprint of national scientific and technological development, precisely connects with hot topics at the international scientific frontier and the urgent calls for social progress, and outlines and presents a brilliant picture of the contemporary field of electronics from a strategic perspective. The publication and dissemination of the series will have a positive impact on strengthening China’s national defense capabilities, enhancing scientific and technological innovation capacity, and sustaining economic and social development.

Book Launch Event for the ‘Classical Theory and Frontier Technology in Electronics’ Series

Representative of the project author team, Professor Min Hu from the School of Electronic Science and Engineering, delivered a popular science lecture on “terahertz science and technology.” The lecture covered terahertz non-destructive testing and security inspection, terahertz communication technology, terahertz techniques enabling black hole observations and Event Horizon Telescope research, and terahertz technology revolutionizing medical imaging, comprehensively demonstrating the diverse application prospects of terahertz technology. Min Hu noted that terahertz technology is transforming the field of cultural relic identification, having been applied for the first time to tomographic imaging analysis of Sanxingdui bronzes, achieving a “cross-temporal dialogue” with ancient artisans. The lecture was met with an enthusiastic atmosphere, as the audience actively posed questions and engaged in in-depth interaction with Min Hu.
